As tart rings or baking rings. Don’t order from Holland. Way too expensive.

Kano rings are available in Australia from Big Bite Dutch Treats in Tasmania.

Otherwise, where can I get them in Holland or who can I order them from?
Thanks

is it possible to make them gluten free? Would it work with gf flour?

Thanks,

Any advice, surely they are available somewhere?
Thanks for the recipe.

Or does the butter leak out of the dough? I do not own muffin tins either and I was wondering if this could just be baked sort of like cookies.
Would it help to cool it before baking in order to make them a stable baking cookie like thing?

Try and bake them (or convince someone from your family to do so) yourself and we are almost certain they will be even better!

I have gotten these at a bakery that is 70 miles away from me, and they’re so delicious. Thank you for the recipe.

Thank you Taylor,
Yes, I must say I also would pick the apricot as my personal favorite. It somehow works the best with the taste of the pastry, where both seem to compliment each other. With raspberry for instance, the taste of the jam can overpower.

Love that you love them so much too. Enjoy your baking and sharing and all the best from Holland,

My favourite filling is apricot jam. This recipe is perfectly crafted and these are such a crowd pleaser! Rondos are now a staple treat in my household 🙂

Thank you Robyn, wonderful to read your comment and the way you were able to make these without the rings. This and the making of the log will very helpful to other bakers too.

Enjoy your baking and sharing and wishing you all the best from Holland,
Ed & Marieke

Since I didn’t have rings or moulds, I used lined muffin tins and mini pie tins to bake them. They worked well. I did have a bit of difficulty neatly transferring the cut rounds to the tins, so next time I will roll the dough into a log of the right diameter, then cut 4mm thick discs (like I do when making some cookies). I think it will make the process quicker for me.

Hello Chris,

We did sell them in our shop some time ago, but due to some issues we stopped unfortunately. We do not know of any sellers outside of Holland but you can basically use any baking ring or oval shape that can be used in an oven. Somebody even suggested using small sardine cans.

Hope we helped you just a little bit and sorry we are not able to help you with the authentic kano rings at this moment.

Greetings from Holland,

Marieke

Do you know where I can buy the traditional Kanos baking rings?

Much appreciated
